MS Stubnitz at Canary Wharf

In Jan 2013 legendary cold war relic and culture ark MS Stubnitz moored in Canary Wharf, and I began my tenure as the unlikely intermediary for a wholly unlikely alliance: between a bastion of European counterculture and Canary Wharf PLC.

Eighty meters in length and weighing in at over 2500 tons, the Stubnitz is a cultural heavy-hitter who has played host to many big names in the world of arts and music as well as documenting decades of European counter-culture.

As Associate Producer and Programmer, while the ship was at Canary Wharf, I curated a season of events focused on tech-art-performance, including contemporary circus, avant-garde fashion, maker culture, sonic arts, automatons, kinetic art, indie-gaming, interactive theatre, film and music.

Featured artists included Kinetica Arts Fair, EMW (London Hackspace), Algorave, Thomas Truax, Sarah Angliss, Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, The Wild Rumpus, Bit-Of-Alright, Hydroacustic and London Music Hackspace.

Press included BBC Click, Wired Magazine and Dazed Digital
